]]> Civic Creative Base Tokyo (CCBT) is a new hub in Shibuya designed to be a platform for exploring the evolution and intersections of art and technology. CCBT primarily hosts ‘art incubation’ programmes, where artists can open up their creative processes to the public, which not only encourages dialogues on artistic expression but also allows the artists to explore new ideas. From time to time, there will also be workshops that address social issues through art and technology, and exhibitions on the work and designs of creatives working in the digital field.

Phase 1 of the space opened in 2018 and serves as ‘proof of possibility’ for public space opportunities under Toronto’s elevated downtown highway, the Gardiner Expressway.

 

Anchored under the Gardiner and guiding its complex future, The Bentway Conservancy is an agile not-for-profit powered by vital partnerships with the City of Toronto, residents, supporters, artists, and dreamers. The organization works as a creative catalyst, rooted in experimentation, demonstration, and collaboration.

 

The Bentway is led by Co-Executive Directors, Ilana Altman and David Carey.
